Florence Fallgatter Distinguished Service Award

Plaque and expenses to attend Conclave is granted biennially on Conclave years to a qualified alumni member of Phi Upsilon Omicron for outstanding achievements in family and consumer sciences. Requires 10 years of employment or volunteer activities. *Due November 1 (odd-numbered years)

Bachtel/Holbrook Collegiate Advisor Awards

The Collegiate Advisor Awards are granted annually to Phi Upsilon Omicron Collegiate Advisors to recognize distinguished service. The Bachtel/Holbrook Award will be given to one outstanding Advisor which includes a certificate, a piece of Phi Upsilon Omicron jewelry and a $300 Conclave travel award. Additionally, three other outstanding advisors will be recognized with monetary awards of $100 to be given for travel to Conclave. *Due November 1 (annually)

Alumni Research Grant

The purpose of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Alumni Research Grant is to support research in family and consumer sciences and to provide financial resources for implementation of ideas consonant with purposes of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Educational Foundation. The concept of the grant is to support post graduate research work – research not necessarily leading to an advanced degree.

Community Impact Grant

The purpose of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Community Impact Grant is to support Phi Upsilon Omicron alumni members who demonstrate leadership through service by implementing projects which positively impact their communities. Collegiate members graduating from undergraduate programs during the spring semester of the grant application year are eligible and are encouraged to apply. ($250) *Due May 1 (annually)

The Bates-Stoklosa Family Legacy Fund- TRAILBLAZER Research Grant 

(Honoring the Founders & Principles of Family and Consumer Sciences)

The inaugural TRAILBLAZER research grant will be awarded in 2025 in honor of Dorcas Bates Reilly- Home Economist in Business and Creator of the Green Bean Casserole. (Reference The Secret History of Home Economics by Danielle Dreilinger, pg. 187.)

The purpose of the grant is to support TRAILBLAZING research in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences and related areas. TRAILBLAZING research represents projects that are unique, innovative, and forward-thinking. For the 2025-2027 grant period, preference will be given to research areas representing culinary arts, food science, nutrition, and dietetics, in honor of Dorcas Bates Reilly and the 70th anniversary of the Green Bean Casserole! Both undergraduate and graduate Phi U members are eligible. ($1,200) *Due November 1 (odd-numbered years)
